National Camp Day is observed annually on the 19th of November each year and it’s a day during which people are encouraged to gather up friends and family members and go out camping.

( Camping is a form of outdoor recreation involving overnight stays with a basic temporary shelter such as a tent. Camping can also include a recreational vehicle, a permanent tent, a shelter such as a bivy or tarp, or no shelter at all.

Camp in this sense has been suggested to have possibly derived from the French term se camper, meaning “to pose in an exaggerated fashion”.
