Dogwood Campground is a family-friendly facility located in the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest. All sites must be reserved to enjoy the area’s scenic surroundings and plentiful recreational opportunities. Bears frequent the area; use appropriate containers for food and garbage.
Can you have a campfire at Dogwood Campground?
Each site is equipped with a table and campfire ring with grill. Firewood is available for purchase. Accessible flush toilets, accessible showers and drinking water are provided. An amphitheater is available and the host offers evening campfire programs on some weekend nights.

Black bears typically avoid people but they can learn to find food in campsites. They are not after you, they are after your trash and food! Seeing a bear in its natural habitat is a wonderful experience, but it’s better to watch them from a distance.
Do bears go to tents?
While rare, a bear may attempt to enter a tent. If this does occur, you’ll have no choice but to yell at the bear and fight back. If you have bear spray or another source of protection, you may need to use it. Just ensure whatever source of protection you use is effective.
