Portable camping toilets work on the same principle: they collect debris in a small tank, dissolved and purified by special chemicals. To empty them: – Remove the drain tank from the lower fill tank (usually by a lever). – Point the sleeve upward while holding the tank vertically.
Can you empty a portable toilet at home?
You can also empty a cassette toilet down a regualr toilet, once you get home for example. I wouldn’t suggest doing this in a public toilet as it is not very pleasant for other users.
How many times can you use a WAG bag?
The WAG (Waste Alleviation and Gelling) Bag contains enough gelling powder for 3-4 uses. The double bag system is made from a puncture resistant material.
Do you reuse wag bags?
I already mentioned this but I’ll repeat it again, you are expected to use a WAG bag more than once. If that doesn’t appeal to you (it didn’t to me) simply make a polite face and ask for one or two more at the Ranger Station, they’ll gladly provide you with extra.
What do you pour in a toilet tank?
Vinegar and Baking Soda Scrub Grab the Dawn, vinegar and baking soda. Drain the water out of the tank. Add 2 tablespoons of Dawn, a cup of vinegar and ½ cup of baking soda. Use the toilet brush to swish it around.
Do you need special toilet paper for Porta Potti?
Toilet Paper You’ll want to avoid using thick or luxury toilet paper with your chemical toilet. The padding in these papers makes them difficult to break down. Most camping stores offer specially designed porta potti toilet paper instead.
